The company that I work for is thinking about buying a new projector. I was asked for my opinion on what type we should buy and that was when I realized that I really didn’t know a lot about projectors. At the present, we have an old-fashioned slide projector that has really seen its days. A little bit of research told me that we now have quite a few different options. The product that seemed to make the biggest impression on me was the LED projector. It seemed to have more advantages than the lamp-based styles. It looks as though the slide projector is becoming a thing of the past.
This type of projector has some benefits that made me feel like purchasing it would be a worthwhile investment. The main advantage was its longevity. LED projectors can last for 20,000 hours or more, which eliminates having to replace the lamp, as you would have to in a lamp projector. This results in money savings. Because of the long life span of the lamp, low maintenance will be required. These projectors are also said to have a reduction in power consumption as compared to the traditional projectors. This also results in money savings. Other advantages include the facts that they are lightweight, portable and have a significant noise reduction.
In addition, I read that the picture quality is better with an LED projector. Details from dark portions of a movie or video game are more easily seen than before. This probably would not matter so much to us as the projector will strictly be used for business meetings and not for movie viewing. Though surprisingly, many families do buy projectors for television viewing and video game playing. With recent advancements in LED technology, I guess the prices of these types of projectors are coming down which makes it more affordable for family purchases.
